St George's Gate, Belfast

St George’s Gate is a mixed use development located at one of Belfast city centre’s most prominent gateway sites, on the junction of Cromac Street and East Bridge Street. Due to its unique location a 25 storey building was proposed that would act as a landmark beacon terminating views from East Bridge Street.

The site is 1.1 acres and is situated within the Belfast City Centre Main Office Core and the Linen Conservation Area. The site is one of the few opportunities in the city to be considered by DOE Planning Service as a true gateway location. As such it provides a unique opportunity to develop a high rise iconic building fronting Cromac Square as part of an overall development.

The proposal provides three buildings; a 25 storey residential tower providing 108 apartments, an office building providing 110,000ft2 of grade A office space, and a hotel building providing 240 four star keys. Overall the development proposals provide c. 300,000ft2. The separate buildings are capable of being developed on an individual basis.

The project was presented to DoE Planning Service in 2007 and has been met with a positive response. The project is currently on hold until further notice.
